As I write to you, it is amazing how fast time is moving. We are already in February. Unfortunately, many people have already given up on their resolutions, abandoned their goals, and reverted to bad habits. I do not want that to be the case for you this year. I am experiencing remarkable results and extraordinary progress. I've already seen some big wins in my business and I am on track for a record-breaking year. While we all have potential, what I know from decades of experience is that potential alone will not make you successful. I've discovered on my journey that passion is a catalyst to success and excellence. If you want to make 2023 the greatest year of your life, then you have got to live your life with a burning passion. I want to outline some keys for harnessing the power of passion for progress and the realization of your potential.
You cannot afford to live your life without a clear vision. Many people enter a new year with excitement and emotionalism. However, it takes more than excitement and emotionalism to change your life. From personal experience, I know the life-altering power of vision. When you have a clear vision, you have direction, you develop the disciplines, and you are willing to dedicate yourself to something that is much larger than you. On the other hand, when you live without a vision, you spend the rest of your life fulfilling someone else's vision. In addition, you become a product of your environment and a prisoner to circumstances and situations. Vision provides you with a blueprint and a guide for your life. Vision gives you something to aim for and develops your focus. If 2023 is going to be different, it is going to be because you made the decision to live life by design. So make 2023 the year that you stop living by default and you start living with intention. Spend some time writing out a vision for your life. Vision empowers you to hone your skills, develop your capacity and honor your potential. Write a vision for your personal, professional, financial, health, and spiritual life. A vision will bring meaning to your days and significance to your moments. Vision is a catalyst for hope and possibilities.
Your vision must be formulated into action steps. After you have taken the time to clarify your vision, you must understand that your vision must be simplified. Why is this so important? Simplification empowers you to create strategies and tactics for success. Therefore, you must take the time to formulate your vision into action steps. This means that you will have to take each goal and think through how you plan to manifest that goal in your life. Personally, I set aside the time to think through what I must do daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly to achieve my goals. As a result, I have daily, weekly, and monthly targets. Also, I have a way to measure my productivity and evaluate my effectiveness. A vision without action is simply a daydream. Daydreams never fulfilled become a nightmare. 2023 is going to be a different year for you. Why do I say that? The difference in seasons is not the ambition that you have. The difference in seasons is the actions that you are willing to take. What actions do you need to take to actualize your goals? What are doing consistently that will produce the results that you want to see in 2023? Action always reveals your dedication to manifesting the life of your dreams.
You must be consistent. The difference between those that dream and those that live their dreams is consistency. As a highly respected thought leader, I have trained, advised, and developed leaders around the world. Everyone is looking for secrets to success. However, the reality is that there is no secret to success. People look at my life today and they make all kinds of assumptions about my achievements. What they do not see are the years of struggle, countless failures, disappointments, betrayals, and all the adversity that I faced along the way. There are no shortcuts to success and there is no such thing as overnight success. The only reason that I am considered successful today is that I stayed consistent. In other words, I kept my focus, refused to lose my stride, and executed on a consistent basis. Consistency is not an attractive word but it is a catalyst for achieving uncommon success. Your outcomes in 2023 will be directly linked to your consistency. Your inconsistency is creating cycles of frustration, failure, and regret in your life. Consistency builds within you the resolve to reach your goals and realize your dreams
You must have a burning passion. Often I am asked the question of how I have been able to be consistent for so many years. How have I managed to write so many books? How is it that my podcast has been running for more than a decade? What did I do to become a thought leader? Well, to truly answer that question would take more time than I have at the moment. However, I would say that passion more than any other factor is what has produced success in my life. I would be lying if I said that this journey has not been hard and difficult. I have had moments where I felt like I was going to break. I have been exhausted and emotionally spent. Yet it was in those moments that I somehow mustered up the strength to keep pushing and never give up. As a result, I have been able to go further and accomplish more than I ever imagined possible for my life. Passion is a flame that will not allow you to stop short of the finish line. Passion is a relentless drive that empowers you to keep reaching for your dreams. Passion is the gateway to success. Most people never succeed because they are not passionate. Anything that you are passionate about you will pursue. Nobody has to convince you about your passion. Nobody has to persuade you about your passion. Most of all, nobody has to push you in the area of your passion. When I look around the world today, I see mediocrity on so many levels. Too often I see people embrace the status quo instead of striving for excellence. My willingness to do what others refused to do has empowered me to live a life that few ever will. Passion is what separates the hopeful from those that dare to live the life of their dreams. Passion is a conviction that will not allow a person to settle for less than they deserve. Passion develops within you an unrelenting drive and an undeniable hunger for greatness.
