Start the Year Off Right: How to Make This Your Greatest Year

Well, let me start off by saying Happy New Year! I hope that you had a wonderful holiday and that your year is off to an incredible start. As for me, I have already made some major life changes and it is such an exciting time for me. I am seeing so many goals accomplished, dreams realized and prayers answered in my life. 2022 was the greatest year of my life and I have no doubt that 2023 will be even greater. What I want you to understand is that if you really want to win this year then you need to have a clear vision, set specific goals, and properly manage your daily activities. I hope these insights will position you for big wins and major breakthroughs in 2023!

  1. You need to take the time to set your goals and clarify your vision. This is the time of the year when everyone is excited and running on adrenaline. I have seen so many posts on social media about people claiming this as their year. While I am not trying to crush dreams, I know from personal experience that it takes more than enthusiasm to change your life. If 2023 is going to be the greatest year of your life, then you need to take some time to set your goals for the year. I want you to get your goals out of your head and onto paper. I want you to be very specific, ensure that you have a way to measure the goals, make sure that you document the actions that you must take to manifest the goals, and ensure that the goal is realistic and that you have time-driven metrics. I always say that what you document gets done. What you dream about rarely gets done. So write down your goals and be as specific as possible. You need your goals on paper so that you can visit them regularly and remain focused throughout the year. Your goals will drive your actions and shape your activities in 2023. The absence of goals results in the absence of growth.

  2. It is important that you outline the consistent actions that you must take. While it is great to set goals and have a vision, one of the greatest keys to my success has been consistency. However, the problem is that most people are consistent in the wrong things. Your beliefs shape your actions. Your actions determine your habits. Ultimately, your habits define what is possible for your life. I have consistently created success in my life by taking consistent action in the direction of my dreams. In other words, I have simplified my vision into strategic steps that deliver consistent results. Are you taking action on your goals every single day? If not, then this is the main reason you are not seeing the results that you want. This year I want you to do something every single day to move you closer to the life of your dreams. Inaction is a downpayment on future cycles of failure. Action is the catalyst for all achievement. Your goals may be massive and it may feel overwhelming to you. However, as someone that has achieved success, I can tell you that consistent action will produce sustainable success in your life. You do not succeed because of what you do occasionally. You succeed by what you do consistently.

  3. Surround yourself with people that stretch you and challenge you to grow. Early in my journey, I realized that if you surround yourself with mediocre people then you will always live an average life. On the other hand, if you surround yourself with people that challenge you to stretch and expand your capacity then you will be ushered into realms of greatness. Your associations determine your advancement. More importantly, the relationships in your life define the realm that you live from. It is safe to surround yourself with people that are just like you. However, safe will never produce a life of success. This year I want to challenge you to associate higher. This means that you need to step outside of your comfort zone and make new connections in your life. Show up in the rooms where destiny helpers and next-level relationships are. Get in environments that will expand you and elevate your thinking. Your life will rise to the level of the relationships in your life. If you are the reflection of the relationships in your life, then you should audit your associations regularly to determine if they align with your capacity. Do not romanticize potential in relationships and make sure that you can measure the effectiveness.

  4. You have to continue to prioritize your growth and development. Everything that I have shared with you is important. However, as someone that has trained and developed leaders around the world, the greatest challenge I see in the world today is a development deficiency. We have a world filled with people that crave knowledge but detest development. Why is that? Culture has conditioned so many to believe that success is instant. Therefore, when they start to see that development requires the investment of time most people give up. I am a highly respected thought leader recognized around the world for my work. It is very important to note that I did not start here. The only reason that my work is respected around the world today is because of my development. It has been my decision to prioritze growth and development that has separated me and empowered me to be on the cutting-edge of my industry. If you neglect growth and development, you will always have gaps and you will always live below your potential. Growth and development is not something that can be delegated. Growth and development is your personal responsibility and it is something that you have to prioritize daily. Growth and development is not only important to remaining relevant. Growth and development is essential to effective and enduring leadership. 2023 will not be different for you unless you are willing to grow and develop your potential.
