First of all, let me welcome you to the second quarter. Can you believe the first three months of 2025 are already over? This year is moving and you cannot afford to become stuck or stagnant. My life has been very chaotic over the last three months. However, I have a lot of clarity and I am making a lot of changes in my life. I have been challenged to grow, develop and evolve more than any other time in my life. While it has been very uncomfortable, it has also been very rewarding and fulfilling. I am not the same person and I like the transformation that has taken place in my life. I want to challenge you to commit to the journey and to become the next best version of yourself.

  1. You have to acknowledge that something needs to change. While your life may appear one way on the outside, we all know that what is happening in our inner world is very different. In a culture that prides itself on keeping it real, we have a lot of pretenders that are living artificial lives. At some point, you have to stop living in denial and come the realization that something needs to change in your life. If you keep doing what you have always done, then you will keep getting what you have always got. If you want your life to be different, then you are going to have to do something different. This year will be like every other year of your life unless you acknowledge that something needs to change. Stop concerning yourself with everyone else and concentrate on what is not working in your own life. Acknowledgement is a critical first step to altering the course of your life. What you are unwilling to acknowledge will never change.

  2. You have to desire something different. It is one thing to acknowledge that something needs to change. It is another thing to develop a desire for something different. I have a good life and I am grateful for every blessing. At the same time, the first few months of this year have brought a lot of reflection and evaluation. It has become clear that some things no longer fit my life and some things no longer belong in my life. We are all creatures of habit and we do not like change. However, change is one of the cornerstones of life and without it we will live constricted. Make 2025 the year that you desire something different for your life. You can keep going to the same places and seeing the same faces. Or you can dare to do something different. From personal experience, I can tell you that pursuing something different brings fulfillment to your life. Too many people live their lives without worthwhile goals and meaningful pursuits. One of the most powerful truths I ever discovered is that you always have the power to make a different choice and take a different course. If you would develop a desire for different, then you could ultimately embrace the next dimension in your life.

  3. You must commit to a different life. It is the desire for something different that ultimately produces the will to commit to something different in your life. It does not matter what desire you have if you cannot engage your will. What most people fail to understand is that you have to engage your will with a strong 'why' in order to change the course of your life. Honestly, most people have no clue what commitment entails. Commitment is deeper than choosing or deciding.. Commitment is having the will to course correct and change the entire direction of your life. Commitment is not something that you do with your mouth. Commitment is what you do with the precious moments of your life and the priceless seed of your potential. I have been called odd, weird and strange my entire life. I have always been misunderstood. It is hard to explain my level of commitment to common men. I've discovered that when you are not consumed with a purpose greater than yourself you cannot truly understand commitment. Essentially, commitment is an internal agreement that triggers external action. Commitment is about giving yourself to the thing that you were born for.

  4. You must be willing to pay any cost associated with commitment. As a highly respected thought leader, my life and work is recognized all around the world. There is not a day that goes by that someone is not contacting me for mentorship or to get time on my calendar. Everyone wants to know the secret to my success; however, nobody is interested in the commitment that has produced success in my life. While other people were playing I was paying the price to be the best in the world at what I do. When other people were idle I was making the investments to become an unforgettable leader. Most of all, when others were comfortable I was challenging myself to perfect my craft and build the capacity for excellence. What I am trying to say is not many people are willing to pay the cost that comes with commitment. I have had to make many tradeoffs in my life. However, I would not trade anything for the treasures that it has produced. Commitment not only determines how far you go but it ultimately determines who you become. You will never know your true potential without commitment.
